I would like to introduce myself! My name is Catriona Clayton. I trained as a beauty therapist some 30 years ago. I had the great fortune to train under an industry icon “Eileen Lazar”. Eileen was instrumental in introducing British associations CIDESCO and ITEC to Australia helping lift training standards in this country. Eileen was also a staunch member of Australia's first industry association AABTH. Since then I have seen many changes in the industry. I lived and worked in London for five years in the 80’s. During this time I worked in the Harrods Beauty salon, trained as a Make-up artist with Complexions London School of make-up. I then freelanced in makeup doing fashion and photographic work. I also worked for an agency that trained me in Dior, Chanel, Elizabeth Arden and Estee Lauder to name a few, working in Harvey Nichols, Harrods, and Selfridge's. On returning to Australia I worked with Ella Bache teaching beauty therapy, training postgraduate courses and then as the role of national training manager. I was heavily involved in the research and development department of the business. This gave me the opportunity to travel to Paris to learn about new technology and to travel extensively for another company training in New Zealand. I owned a business in North Sydney for 5 years, before embarking into the day spa arena in Camden. Our dream is to have Australia's most professional salon located in Camden.
